The
Aston Magna festival which is run by a seperate entity (Aston Magna
Foundation for Music and the Humanities)

Literary and Dramatic Evenings at Aston Magna
Beginning
in the mid nineties, Aston Magna has been the venue for a serries of
staged readings built around one writer. Such writers have included
George bertnard Shaw, Noel Coward, Ernest Hemingwaty, and Tennessee
Williams. In each case a group od professional and ameature actors
are put together by the evening's directors Dr. Herbert Gould.
Proffesional actors in the past have include Marge Champion, Kittie
Carlisle Hart, Kristen Linklater, George Coyne and others.
Depending upon the season they are performed on the South
terrace before an audiance of 80-100 people. In each case a dinner
is served involving foods which rflect the basic theme of the writer
whos works are being staged read.

Conversations at Aston Magna, symposium-type discussions on current
controversial topics.
These
evening are sometimes impromtu or planned ahead involving,
normally, important matters of current topical interest.
They generally involve 10-15 people from various walks of life
and are followed by an informal buffet dinner. Topics dicussed in
the passed included abortion, the Iraq invasion of 2003, the
French Response to such event, issues of the American
Religous Left and Right, and others.

Pre-Colombian Textile Collection
In
the public rooms of the Main House at Aston Magna are displayed a
number of original Pre-Colombian textiles ranging in age fron
second century B.C. to the Inca period (1450), a passion of the
owner of Aston Magna
